Institute for Real Estate Agents
IPI/BIV licensed estate agents may trade as self-employed real estate agents: they are responsible for the sale, letting and management of your property.

Since 1993, it is by royal decree no longer possible to trade as a real estate agent without license (supervisory authority: Institute for Real Estate Agents, rue du Luxembourg 16 B, 1000 Bruxelles) :
A real estate agent is self-employed and carries out for third parties:
Intermediary activities aimed at selling, buying, exchanging, letting or assigning properties, property rights or businesses;
Property administration activities involving: either the management of properties or property rights;
Or the duties of managing agent.
