In 1999, a meeting was organized between Ezy Properties (now Aximas) and the JVC Logistics Europe liaison office to set-up a logistical distribution centre in Antwerp.
Since very few existing & available warehouses were adapted to today's logistical needs and almost none were available, it was necessary to convince the JVC directors in the European & Japanese HQ that only a new tailor made warehouse would bring the required solution for their distribution centre.
Based upon the location, the rental price & the quality of reference projects and after month's of careful studying, the JVC directors selected a project of the Group Verelst on the business zoning Krekelenberg in Boom/Niel, a commune in the Antwerp periphery with excellent connections to the Antwerp port and the A12 and E19 highway's.
Approximately 28.000 m² warehouse and 700 m² offices will be constructed for JVC. The warehouse will be equipped with all modern features such as sprinklers, 10m free height, 0 levelling, 1 dockshelter for each 1.000 m² warehouse, etc. The transaction was closed at a rent of 37,-Euro/m²/year for the warehouse and 89,-Euro/m²/year for the offices.
