Avenue Louise (French) or Louizalaan (Dutch) is a major thoroughfare in Brussels. It runs southeast from Place Louise to the Bois de la Cambre, covering a distance of 2.7 kilometers (1.7 mi). Avenue Louise is not only a sought-after business address in Brussels but runs through a lively and upscale residential district. Today, Avenue Louise is home to many upmarket shops, restaurants and offices. The beginning of Avenue Louise, the "Goulet Louise" (Louise bottleneck) is part of the upscale shopping district while at the end Avenue Louise edges the magnificient Bois de la Cambre with its lakes & endless hiking, running & biking trails.
