Haasrode Research Park in Leuven
The Haasrode Business Park in 3001 Leuven (Heverlee) is definitively one of the most interesting locations just outside the Brussels periphery. The Haasrode Business Park is divided in the Haasrode Research Park and the Haasrode SMSE Zone.
Besides the traditional industry one can find a high concentration of high-tech and science companies active in ICT, engineering, software, medecine, biotech, renewable & green energy, etc. The nearby IMEC nano-electronics research center, the University hospitals Leuven (largest hospital group of the country) and KU Leuven university were originally the main attraction for these companies.
Haasrode can benefit from an exceptional accessibility. Located alongside exit 23 of the E40 Brussels-Liège motorway it is located barely 15 minutes from the Brussels international airport (closer than Brussels itself) and without traffic problems (on rush hours you will usually drive opposite the main traffic to and from Brussels). From Wavre in Brabant-wallon there is a fast express road leading almost directly to Haasrode! By regular bus connections, the Leuven train station can be reached within 10-15 minutes.
The location alongside the linguistic frontier makes it easy to hire both native speakers from the French as Flemish (Dutch) speaking part of the country.
