Businesses in Brussels are currently receiving their tax on office space. The Brussels government has found no better solution than to once again extort its businesses to fill the hole in the budget.
The office tax in the Brussels capital region will rise from €9.58/m² in 2021 by a hallucinatory 77% to €17/m² in 2022.
For many companies, the sharp rise in energy and labor costs means a forced reorganization anyway. Now they can also consider moving to the Flemish periphery around Brussels where no additional tax is levied on companies, offices commercial space or warehouses.
